What is a good application to create a slick logo with ? Fireworks ? photoshop or Corel.. and links, tips ? thanks guys!

kodap and qburt cool, well i have sketched out a few ideas... however i am not sure. how i can start with the creation of the sketch... like creating the native graphics and slicing it idea ? how would you do it.

I agree use a pad and pencil and draw out what you want to do digitally

ok after the pad and pencil which i have done with about 15-20 sketchs... how do i start... draw a circle with the app tools and Carve it ?? :(

I always found that sketching out logo on paper was a huge waste of time. anyways
geffen. Whatever software you end up using. Take your time to learn the tool first. I doubt anybody has the patience to hold your hand tru it all.

a program doenst make a "Slick" logo, only designers can do that

Vector based images are the best. Most clients want a low printing price so one or two colors (gradients included) are my rule. Your challenge is choosing a font, a color and possibly an icon that all work together. Think minimal and think interesting form. Sometimes the company title IS the logo. Sometimes 'slick' is simple.
