Hey everyone, instead of snow for xmas i get a powerbook problem, and i hope someone here can help me out...
My 12" powerbook (OS X 10.3.2 installed) won't eject CD's anymore. I backed up some data (everything went fine - when I want to eject, the cd drive makes the noise it usually makes when it ejects a disc, but this time it makes the noise and then boots the CD back on my desktop... I've tried ejecting it the normal way, restarting while holding the trackpad down, ejecting through firmware, using disk utility,... nothing works...It would be excellent if someone here knows how to solve this!
Merry christmas everyone!

I had a similar issue with my 17" powerbook. I can't remember the combination of keys but you have to restart the computer and then it forces any CD out of the drive. If that doesn't work it most likely is the hardware. You'll have to check apple help, or call apple to figure out what that key combination....

hard ware problems are free for the first year! for repairs....so figure out when you can be without it for three days.....then start drinking.

when this happens to me, i just reboot and either start hitting the eject key over and over or command-e. at some point the boot allows it to realize you want an eject.
but then again, maybe your drive is fuxored.
