Olafur Eliasson's The Weather Project on exhibition at the Tate Modern in London, UK.
For those that have the opportunity to go and see it, please please do. For those that don't, check out the website (posted in PBS).
The Weather Project is one of the most exhilarating, exciting and moving pieces of art I have ever had the pleasure to observe.
The mirrored ceiling adds an unexpected element of interaction as one lies down on the floor of the Tate Modern to stare up and become one of many unidentifiable figures in the distance.
For me, this is what art is about.

yeah its good, strange atmosphere in there and the 'mist' really helps it, reminds me of something inbetween being on mushrooms in a concrete/tarmac carpark under orange street lights with 'no weather' and something you'd expect to see on THX 1138.

James.
For the full/best experience of the piece make sure you go in the main entrance [the 'Turbine Hall' entrance, not the side entrance.

remeber to lie down while your looking up to feel fully detached

its intresting the way in which the installation has completely transformed the gallery environment. I was there the other days and people were laying down all over the place chatting etc like it was some sort of synthetic beach. Loads of little kids were running around playing... it was quite serene.

the best thing to do is to walk around but only look where you are going in the mirror.
its really strange knowing that you could walk(or try) just the same speed without bumping into anything/one.

i've always been a bit skeptical about installations i guess cos i've seen so many crap ones. also i normally hate going to big galleries on sundays cos there are so many people there.
but the weather project has changed my mind on both accounts - the crowds just added to the effect of being in some strange futuristic underground city version of hyde park on a really sunny day... everyone was mucking about and lying down as if they were on drugs... awesome stuff. it really moved me.
