I think 'The Alan Parson's Project' also had a tune called 'I, Robot'. One of the first rock bands to incorporate the vocoder into their music.

Rock Hudson would have been kickass in this role...
and no matter the star, you can't put too much credence to it. fucking alex proyas is directing. and he wrote the screen play.
tsk tsk you fucking directors that continue to weild the pen when you shouldn't even be touching the flight case the camera is sitting in.
speaking of mr. proyas, i recently tried to watch dark city in hopes that i would enjoy it after shunning it for a number of years.
yeah, i stil don't like it. the editing is very problematic. that's my main gripe. watching it feels like you are riding passenger to your little sister learning how to drive a stick. jerky. stoppy. jerk,fast, stop, slow, kill engine, fuck man.
so yeah, i, robot really shouldn't be a movie, just like cat's cradle shouldn't either. there are some things in the literary world that you should leave alone, like those cute little tropical tree frogs.
ya know those frogs with the bright colors... sure, it's a rare specimen you've found, just like that screenplay of slaughterhouse five but that frog carries a gat and you shouldn't touch things that are smarter than you. so get your god damn hands off of that fucking scrpt alex. back away.. back away...

my news is apparently way old. if will smith is playing the dick (hehe) then it'll be a steaming pile. what a damn shame.
i agree...directors, if they are good, should only be allowed out of their pens on occasion to direct, then corralled back in and occasionally fed. going a little far, i know.
this is probably why i haven't been to the movies since Two Towers was released. and don't get me started on tv.

hopefully he'll record a track for the soundtrack and make a video with him in a dance routine with some CG characters

perhaps alex proyas' directing ability can overcome smith's acting ability. proyas is pretty adept at creating fantastic worlds, albeit often a bit derivative.
