i need a little snippit of code to pretend its a timecode running.
need to happen in code, so i dont have to animate it all.
00:00:00:00 is the format.
the last 00 has to go to 29 frames then reset to 00 and do that in a second.
then the seconds go all the way to good old 30.
anyone have this in their archives?
thanks.

Can't help you out sailor but I did want to let you know that
12:00:00:00am, if even such a miniscule amount of time, is the moment of my day in which my body is in perfect equilibrium with the magnetic forces spinning all around the earth.It's the one moment of the day I feel true bliss. A "state of nirvana," you could say.

This really shouldn't be that hard to do. It's a loop with 4 variables, one for each set of 0's and everytime the loop hits 29 you update the other 3 with if statements.

You could just do it cloogy - make easch set of 00 a simple movieclip... each one just with a counter that increases on a different keyframe

Not certain about flash but if you need to do it in AE there is a timecode plugin under "numbers".
And even if you need it for flash you could make it in AE and output i t as an swf. You would just be using text so it should be small. Probably not as small as doing it in flash though.

Make a checkTime function. Inside it create a date object, evaluate its components by using
getSeconds(), getMilliseconds(), getMinutes(), getHour(). If you want a 00 format, check if each component string has a length > 1. If not add a "0". Join everything in the end to give you the 00:00:00 format.Now use the checkTime function in a setInterval loop like:
timeLoop = setInterval(this, "checkTime", 30)
