well, in my opinion there's a time and place for this style of design, but a "Joe's Lawn Service" site isn't the type of business i would use this style for. i just see a clash between the design and the business it's illustrating. if these guys did some crazy, contemporary landscape designs then I could see this desing working (with some better photography.) i understand it was done very quickly, but I'm basing my comments on the design, not the amount of time it took. maybe it is a great company that does innovate and creative work (i don't understand the langugage) but if that's the case, it's not illustrated well enough with just the aesthetics.

this dutch gardeners is more progressive than you think, Gavin.
the guy i did this job for was very happy with what i made for him, because the average of the gardeners websites here look like this http://www.adonishoveniers.nl/ and this http://www.acerhoveniers.nl/ (!!)

i'm just saying... doesn't look right to me...
anyways, maybe he just needs to add some more marijuana to his landscapes. if he did that i'd hire him and fly him to the USA

mmmmmm
not really sure .
maybe u should have spent 2 more minutes on this thing..
- stewart0
it doesn't look right ?!

for the time spent, it's defintely not bad. not bad at all.
But maybe you should've made the buttons even simplier. Those yellow ones are pretty distracting from what you're supposed to look at.

but it was fun to make
and the client is happy.here, some other dutch gardeners online:

haha - WOW. your site is a fucking masterpiece compared to those.
Don't you just love the smooth edges on the logo here?
http://www.hoveniervanamelsfoort…That may be the worst thing I've seen since those crazy nude pics of Anna Nicole Smith came out.

good design is good design. you shouldn't have to put it next to a bad design to show it's good design :)

This 1 minute design has taken you over three weeks? perhaps you should have spent more time on the design?
- jpolk0
i guess you really worked for them
- stewart0
no, the other links illustrate the taste of the average small businessman.
it's like they don't see the link between the atmosphere of their website and the way their clients will look at them.
