I am developing a concept for a flyer and I am thinking of using pieces from popular magazines, newspapers, ads, and other types of media. One of the ideas is using portions of photos and type to build a collage of this image we're given by the media about the ideal 'us'. As always, I do not want to step on toes or have to worry any bit about copyrights and all of that.
Is reusing the work of others in an obvious collage and reassembly of images going to be an issue? Anyone have any ideas on that?
Thanks in advance.

somehow I identify myself with this site I posted, while doing personal work with collage, I got together a back of random, cutted images from mags and documents. but that's just personal, I often give it awy for friends.
when I'm asked to do something similar, payed, of course, I use some of the money investing in imagery like image banks, or taking photographs for the source of the collage. papers that are not susceptible of getting caught on the copyright restrictions...- etc...
but every case is a single case...

Simply put, if the work your producing is NOT for commercial benefit, ie. your not using a picture of a Ferrari to sell your tires in a magazine, you should be OK.
