I have a portfolio review on Friday with a very large company.
Any words of advice? What to expect?
I've never had an interview at a large corporation before.
Thanks ahead of time!

don't fart while you're in there.
- krts0
HA!
- DeLeon0
Make sure to relax and not try to use too many big words
- sexypixel0
just be yourself and look them in the eye, be convincing and brag but be humble at the smae time,
and ya, dont fart.make them feel that they need you
- DeLeon0
keyword: teamwork!
things not to say: "y'know" "um" "hell yeah" "whatever whatever"
- krts0
*head down, writing notes*
No... farting...
Got It!

remember, most of these office types are more confused than you, find the one who is most relative to your job, and try to speak to them directly for most of the time in the meeting
- sexypixel0
more things not to say: smell my ass, globalisation, eat my fart *see: dont fart.
- GreedoLives0
firm handshake.
don't be apologetic about anything you've done.
eye contact.
don't sit on the edge of your seat.
be calm.
be honest.
think up a weakness for yourself coz they always ask that crap.and don't fart.
- DeLeon0
oh and make sure you can turn your weakness into a positive like:
"I work too much"
or
"I smoke crack but I sell it too"
- krts0
I had a freelance job there once and walked in with a tie on and they seemed like that was funny since they all dressed casually.
Think I should still wear a tie for an interview?
- GreedoLives0
yes!
overdressing is essential!
come in like it means something to you.
our place is totally casual but they view anyone not dressed up for interviews with suspicion.
- sexypixel0
i never trust a designer in a tie
- sexypixel0
you can look smart without wearing a tie
- krts0
Yeah, I do agree with what you said about the tie thing. I will wear it.
- krts0
Oh... another thing. Most of my current portfolio is on my web site. Should I bring in my laptop with a offline version to show? Along with my big ol' book?
- GreedoLives0
well, you can skip the tie but then you have to wear a jacket/sport coat.
- DeLeon0
bringing a laptop (being prepared) always impresses future employers
- DeLeon0
yes
with a name like Harris T. Weed, I would!
