Hey all. I'm moving to Hunting Beach (or in the very near area) in a couple weeks... looking for apartments online, but I'm coming up mostly with lame complexes... if anybody is in or around that area, and knows anything or has any leads on some places, or #'s to call, anything, please let me know...
post here, or mail me at:
thanks so much.

also, westsiderentals.com has fee-based listings which are good if you don't mind shelling out the dough.

I've never lived in HB but my sister does. Most of the places in HB are very small tiny complexes consisting of just a few units. They are pretty much the type of places that I would definitely go and look at first because they all seem kind of shaddy in my opinion. I could never live in these places(at least the ones I've seen)
If you look a little further south like Irvine you will find some pretty incredible brand new complexes that are going to be about the same price but wired for Wireless, DSL and cable.
I dont know where you are going to be working, but if you go even further south into South Orange County i could help out with describing places.

thanks for the offer, shane. South definitely might be an option, considering what you said about HB..

I used to live in Irvine - the locals call it "bore-vine" because it's all super-clean-cut cookie-cutter apartment complexes - very un-natural looking and boring. I really liked it in Irvine though... very quiet and safe - a big university kinda place because UCI is right near there.
Huntington has a much hipper younger crowd, closer to the beach and very care-free. If you want to share-accomodation I'd recommend huntington... wake up with a group of surfies, walk to the beach, good way to meet new friends. I wouldn't say that Irvine is that much cheaper either.

Hi I lived there.
On huntington St a few blocks from the beach and pier. Like someone said above its pretty much all little complexes. There are some little bungalows but some surfer got it nailed down ten years before you got there.
Pretty much imagine the old show "Melrose Place" and thats what you are lookin at. And itll be expensive.I swear NOONE in that neighborhood worked. Come to think of it neither did I! Those were the days. Anyhooo good luck finding a joint.
