I´m going to study in Utrecht spring semester 2004. Have you got any experience of Utrecht or the school I´m going in ?(HKU Utrecht school of arts, Illustration department).
What is the student life there like? Is living costs expensive?
What is the education level in HKU? Let me know!

i lived about a year in utrecht and worked there for a year and a half. and i really don't like utrecht. it's a bit changing but still. it's a small city, i rather refer to it as a big village. it's a beatifull city though, actually only the centre but after a couple of weeks you've seen it all. dunno. boring. dull. annoying. know a couple of students who did the hku, some exchange students, pretty solid education.

so why utrecht? why not eindhoven or amsterdam? eindhoven is even more boring then utrecht but the educations seems better. Student life is the same everywhere I think. No money and Partyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!

I live in Utrecht, and I like it. Housing is quite expensive and hard to find. There are a lot of students in Utrecht, the nightlife is ok too. The alternative scene isn't that various as in Amsterdam or Rotterdam though, that's a bit dissapointing.
If you're looking for the most recommended school of arts you probably should try the design academy in Eindhoven. (www.www.designacademy.nl/)

utrecht is a nice city (lot's of students). I think the HKU is a pretty good academy.
Some good designers graduated there. (designpolitie / martijn engelbregt / syb / dietwee, etc)nice aswell: tivoli (small concerthall)
have fun there!

well if a boring city isn't a problem and education is way more important than you could even think about the kabk in the hague. top notch. and on typography the best school to go to.

I´ve been already accepted to Utrecht, so I will go there. Boring city isn´t a problem, because I´m going to travel a lot. Distances and connections are great from Utrecht/Holland. Any students from HKU?
