I hope you guys can guide me with this.
I'm going to apply for an internship job in Montreal around April (its part of my program at school) and I need to know if you guys have any tips.
So far my plan is simple and straightfoward. I will send a package adressed specifically to the person in charge of hiring (I've found all names and adresses allready). The package will basicly bee a booklett that serves as a portfolio with some information about me. I'll, of course, include a letter to formally ask (read: demand) the job.
Do you guys/girls suggest anything else?
I'd thought I should get the opinion of real people in the business.
thanks in advance

Unless the company has actually announced an opening for an intern, I'ld suggest just starting off by making a phonecall. Thats what seems to work for people around here.

I always do something fun with my portfolio, I can't tell you my portfolio secret.... but have some fun with it...
sort of like how painter delivers their software in a paint can, if you come up with a decent concept you'll have a better change of being remembered, and you can show off your originality first off as well.

yes...make yours standout...but do it so that it's cost effecient to yourself as well.
i get so many friggin' boring pdfs listing school projects and how they can help me grow...blah blah blah...
don't be boring.
