Hopefully this isn't a repeated topic, i had a quick look, couldn't find any.
I need to install IE5.5 on my pc for testing without losing IE6. Any way i can do this? like downloading it from somewhere in a self contained folder or something?
Also, not a fan of the online ones which show you screen shots of the page in the browsers (ie. browsercam.com)
anyone know a way around this?

Installing old versions of IE after newer versions are installed can often screw up your whole system. You really a seperate drive (or partition) with a seperate OS on it that you can boot from.
Also old versions of software can be found here (although their IE support isn't too good).

Yeah, just as i thought. I don't want to risk stuffing up my OS for this.
I think i'm going to have to poach an old pc from the office somewhere just to run IE5.5, how sad.
Theres a great old browser archive here

No problems whatsoever. Each version of IE can be put in its own directory and run without issue - Just don't mess with the browser settings as they all appear to share the same registry settings from what I've found. (The look of 5.0 should be similar to your native version of 6 for example for the toolbar settings etc.)
