on my machine at home, when using illustrator i can press "p" and BAM my pen tool is selected. if i press "p" again, BAM! my pen tool transforms to the Add Point option. if i press it yet again, blah blah blah. it cycles through all my pen options. same with my other tools.
my puter at work wont do this. ive searched the prefs and cant find anything to allow me to do this. im on OSX. it's the damned most useful thing ever and it pisses me off that i cant figure how to do this. 'neone got and snazzy ideas? thanks!

End the madness and restart your machine.

what the hell you talkin bout?

you should be able to "shift-P" through your pen sub-tools on the mac... never heard of it cycling without the shift key...

actually, i just tried it... and apparently it only did that in illustrator 8 or os9 or somethin'... i guess you're stuck with the minus key, the equals key, and shift-c...
sorry...
