Ive forgotten how to do somthing in Quark. Ok working with a basic image created in Illustrator, its a circle with a compound path onto a square, so its just a circle inverted.
Black background on a transparent circle. saved this as an eps then imported it into quark. I now want to change the colour of the black background to lets say blue. I remember ages ago doing this same process by then just clicking on the picture colour in the colours panel. but its not enabled for some reason.. all i can do is change the colour of the transparent circle with background colour. Anyone know what the fuk iam talking about here? Be greatful for some help guys.

You can do it with greyscale tiffs or bitmaps, not Illustrator files though as far as I'm aware.

what dstlb says is right. bitmapped tiffs only. you have to change it in illustrator / freehand.
