"good tutorial about creating techno"
I'm laughing my ass off.
That was a joke, right?

yeah, it's so automated your right Moth. But there are a few tricks that can be learned.

thanks! hmm. all good things to ponder.
so creative labs soundcards are no good for music? (im also hoping to keep this as a 7.1 gaming machine) ;)

Essential reading if you're making music on a PC....

Download Propellerheads' Reason 2.5 or ReBirth at http://www.propellerheads.se They both have soft synthesizers that work well and are intuitive. As well as Orion from http://www.sonic-syndicate.com. Sequencing different tracks in .rx2 (rex-file) format is the way to go. :)

BTW, Reason isn't the only thing you are going to want to utilize, but I mean if you are using their beat presets and running things at 135 to 140 BPM it's all gonna' sound like techno based upon the speed anyway. Reason really is an all encompassing Soft Synth, but don't look at it as the end-all.

for my sisters fashionshow in 2001 i made this in Reason:
http://www.kulsdom.com/fashionsh…
it was played in an enromous empty hangar near the Amsterdam harbour, it souded really great in there.
it is a bit of Ingwie Malmsteen with some drums & extra violins added. easy.

yeah that's nice. I don't use Reason for Techno production. I slow it down to like 93 BPM to 100 BPM which is like Trip-Hop Electric sorta stuff.

right, Reason isn't the "end all" but it IS the most intuitive music making software out there. i've used it to make tribal house, prog house type stuff. you can make anything w/ it, really. it's not just a "techno" package. VISIT:

chilled out, 2004 style electronic music is all about 50bph.
you figure it out. and go forth!
- m0rt0
50bph
50 beats per hour?
dude you rock!
- m0rt0
is reason an audio tracker aswell? (not that you'd need one for techno - just wondering)
- unfittoprint0
techno is EVIL.
*4300!

not so much a tracker, you mean sequencer I think? Yeah you can sequence stuff with it quite well, but again importing .wav files to work with isn't that easy to do. It's more or less you controlling Reason with a general MIDI keyboard.
