i have started a new project in flash, and *tail in between legs cause its been a while since i did a project in flash* lately have asked for more help than i think i ever have here
need to get a simple menu i thought of working and can't seem to figure it out
would someone let me email them fla and then have a look
for someone else it will be really to fix i think, and then I can get on with the rest of the site
thanks!

versa mate, I think youre going to have to give us more of a hint on this one.. maybe a link to the fla would help!

sorry, didn't want to jump the gun so to speak
i am just starting this, but
here's a link showing the problem with the nav area
(onRollOut problems)http://www.barrettstudio.com/sta…
can post the .fla is someone is willing
thanks
- rasko40
depends how you have built it.. have you tried using an invisible button that occupies the area out side the rollouts with an action on it that tells them to go back to the start of their timeline when you roll over it?? does that make sense... thats the simple way, I'm no flash guru!

also, you have a problem with your preloader, in safari it gets to 100 % and stops, only if I reload the page does your psgae appear else it just hangs on the loader... I guess your just in the early stages tho

like a "moat" around the hit areas, that when i mouse out, i end up hitting, and then in turn tell the curtain buttons to drop back into place....tried that after my AS attempts failed - problem is the mask around the whole nav MC making the buttons hidden until engaged, only is big enough for hit areas, and nothing around them
???

yeah, thanks, i know i know
working on it - working on it;)

mr_flaco -
OMG you get to laugh at my poor flash organization
zipped alright?
- rasko40
not sure what you mean, cant you have a button area that shows the nav (which will be the same area as the nav) your nav is a MC encasing buttons and the surrounding area is your rollout button.. not the most elegant but...
- mr_flaco0
im checkin it...
- mr_flaco0
wow, its crazy in here, still looking. Seems like it should work to me, but still looking it over.

aw shucks i know
i bring in alot at the beginning, even older stuff i've built or mcs from others that i want to use
navMC actions at the bottom is where everything ishappening
the problem is that because i have made the bottoms of the tabHoldersMC 'onRollOut'able
the movies, or buttons underneath inside the tabBTMCs are getting messed up
- jpea0
holy shit dude.. it's a goshdamn bazaar in that fla.
i'll send you off an email with a new way to do this thingy
- rasko40
yeah tis damn messy... I dont see why you have an MC for the top half of each nav block and another for the bottom for starters... all you need is one MC for each, and each containing the various buttons.
though its tricky to see what you're trying to achieve, maybe I'm missing something.

school me guys - i really need it

thanks alot for the organization help - after not working in flash for awhile, i find myself floundering abit with how to organize
- mr_flaco0
I agree w/ jpea. I'd do it differently as well. Nutty.
- jpea0
ygm. enjoy the fla:-)

this is my third attempt...at the nav
explain to me a more efficient way...i am really excited to keep getting better and better in AS
- versa0
