sorry couldn't resist... i wouldn't think IE had anything to do with your IIS configuration. I use a PC at work and have win2k and IIS installed for testing purposes. It doesn't affect my IE. Have you tried running windows update? http://windowsupdate.microsoft.c… maybe you just need a security update or something?

iis is a piece of shit, uninstall it and install apache for windows.

yep. what sparker said.
IIS sucks bigtime. very vulnerable to viruses also.
you might wanna do a serach for WAMPP on google..
;)

hmm, i've never had problems with it.. on 98, nt, 2k or xp.

you heard the man, no iis, vulnerable, apache... and so on.
- tomkat0
trust me.. WAMPP is what you're looking for.

iis is fine so long as you keep up on the patches.... i've never had a problem here at work... I check windowsupdate once a week or so though. left on it's own with no updating IIS is bad... but if you keep up on it it's really no worse than anything else out there.
with that said... i'm no champion of the MS cause. I use a mac at home. I just know that we use both IIS and Apache here at work. Neither have given us any problems. Our admin is good about keeping everything up to date, so that makes a big difference.

yes, apache can run asp. i believe they use something called chiliasp or something like that. it doesn't support all the features of asp, though.

actually mitsu, i know a guy that tried to run that chilisoft asp on his apache box and he said it's performance was laughable. he was constantly having to do things to it to make it work correctly. he finally just got a copy of win2k and put it on another computer to run the asp stuff he had.

yeah, that doesn't surprise me. good to know it though.
i never really understood why anyone would want to do that anyway, just learn php... it's just another syntax..
