"i may be well dressed..but i'm still opressed"...
love it when the brotha kicks in a ryhme

Sharpton has some good observations of political hypocrisy. But he's part of the same hypocrisy. Never trust a reverend wearing a $1800 suit.

"I heard him for the first time on the Democratic candidates debate, and he was the only one that seemed to believe in what he was saying. "
...that's what I'm sayin...

did anyone see them make fun of him on the daily show... that colbert guy kept asking him about his hunger strike and how he got fat so quick again... it was pretty funny.

I heard him for the first time on the Democratic candidates debate, and he was the only one that seemed to believe in what he was saying.
Some say Bush is man of the People. Same with Al but at least Sharpton uses his brains...

and now he is gonna make a fool of himself on SNL and won't be taken seriously by anyone anymore.

i just realized how many of you are just completely ignorant. think before you speak. do your homework if you want to ace the test. go look up rev al's bio. involved with the civil rights movement since the 70's. and go look up his recent work with the national youth movement. the media butchers his standpoint and whenever he tries to speak up he is laughed at. thus, making the masses believe the same poopie doodoo that was fabricated. give this guy a listen. and if you still don't get it, you probably never will. yes, he has many flaws. but he gives a shit about his people and he does something about it. his views on current events are very insightful.

how did you knwow I wear g-strings? damn! ;) His presence is never a good thing except on joke shows like SNL.
- monkeyshine0
I'm not saying he is a viable candidate...don't get your g string in a wad! ;)
He has clearly positioned himself in this race to gain more recognition and a by-product is that he can say some things that the "politicians" won't dare say...so, I see his presence as a good thing.
- JazX0
hahha that's true too, I mean I don't want to judge old Al too harshly, he's ok in my book, my point was you can't take him seriously. Let him have his fun and eat cake too.
- BonSeff0
have you looked at wesley clark?
sharpton is a waste of a candidate
- JazX0
WTF!?!?!?!? Monkeyshine, you have to be completely joking me right? Come on, Al, running for anything is a jokie joke, he needs to stick to NYC Mayoral Hopeful. The same reason he is going to be on SNL It's funny and he thinks so too. he's like Steve Forbes running to keep his name in the mix of media moguls, etc. ;)
- JazX0
hee hee yeah that's an all-time classic like Don King style almost. Old school black folk. :)
- monkeyshine0
I don't see how you could say he's an embarrassment J, given what we have in office right now.
Though I don't see him as true presidential material (whatever the hell that is) I do think he has a relevant voice in our culture. He doesn't coat his opinion, thank god!
- BonSeff0
i like his greasy mullet
- JazX0
nope, I was just f'ing around as usual, but Al is a dope. I mean come on does anyone here take this guy serious and yet he is on like numerous talk shows and shit like this. lol! ;)

jazx needs a hug right now.

I mean that 18% as in a small number in comparison to total poulation of USA. Yet representing and speaking on behalf of popular African-Americans in the media keeps his head above water. Get me? :)
- JazX0
well the guy is a laughing stock, he always seems to stick his head in at the opportune moment to represent some 'fallen from grace' African-American that also in the spotlight. A bit like Jesse Jackson in a way. It's total BS. Anyway, I didn't say he isn't funny, because he totally is and they will probably spoof that on SNL. So all the power to him, but that doesn't mean you have to take this cat serious.

I guess Al Sharpton is alright unless you're Jewish. He's said some anti-semitic remarks.
I still don't understand what 18% of the population thing means though?
