  help me!

  I've been given some video files in the following formats:
  .mpg, .mp4 and.swf and need to take this into after effects (5.5) and bring the audio track in too.
  The audio, for some reason, does not import but the video does. Iniitially, I'd brought the audio in separately by saving it as an mp3 file and just adding another layer, assuming the synching would be correct, but it's not.

  Any tips? eg what format should it be and how do I change my original video format into it?
