Illustrator CS Type Preview?

    Why does typography previews look so shit in the new illustrator?!
    Does anyone know if there is some kind of setting i have to turn on or off. Honestly if i put a font at 18pt, the x height screws up totally, then at 24 it would be ok, then at 36, messed up again, etc.
