you will need an app to export the mp4 to a diff format

unfortunately not possible in FlashMX. You can dinamically import mp3 and jpgs, but not quicktime movies.
You'll have to export them through flash as swf's for later use.
BUT if you're using MX 2004:

No.
That tutorial is for playing Flash inside of a Quicktime wrapper - not an SWF
You cannot link to external movies unless they are imported into an FLA and exported out to SWF.
And I don't think Flash will import Mp4s at all.

use quicktime pro, and export as whatever....
then import that.

Lickle question here:
When you import a mpeg into Flash, do you still need to worry about Codecs? Or is it also embedded into Flash so you don't have to worry about the viewer having the right one.
Any comments on that Wildform Flix thingy?

don't worry. Flash uses Sorenson's codec, already in the user's Flash player.

Great. Now all I have to do is figure out how to control it...
I guess I have to export the video/Flash movie to swf then load that into my main movie which have the play/stop/pause controls???
Or can I just hunt for a nice component.

Forget it. My lazy arse found the Macromedia tutorials...
