Ebay + Safari + 0sX = crap

    Seems that Ebay is using something client side to check what country you are in when browsing the auctions. If you are using Safari and OsX and try to view say 'military hardware' then you get the message about not being able to view the product because of your countries restrictions.

    I've had this happen on two machines, in two different IP ranges, and cleared both up by using IE

    anyone else care to check this out ?

    i find it weird how apple put ebay on the toolbar as default on Safari and then as you say it doenst really work. Sometimes for me the home page doesnt even load properly. I'm waiting for Apple.com to fail as well - oh the irony ...

    I think its more an issue of the browser not working than the sites not working.

    More likely some enviromental var is not being set in the browser.

    I'm all for other people making browsers, but I have still to find one that works better on a whole than IE.

    I grew so very tired of designed for the crap that netscape was turning out. We try to stick to w3c and if that doesn't work I say its on the browser to meet those standards not on the industry to back its back to comply with a crapy browser.
