I just bout a 120gb hard drive and put it in a USB case so i could use it as an external hard drive between my pc at work and my mac at home. I formatted it at work on the pc but the mac didnt read it and had to format it again(deleting everything). Then it wouldnt show up on the pc without formatting again. I have tried NTFS originally and then FAT32 but it wont format it.
anyone done this before or know how to format the drive so it can be read by both mac and pc??

I think you'll have to go old school and do a dos format to make it go back and forth between platforms

will this still format it as fat32?? I just tried formatting it again on a pc as FAT 32 and it gets to the end and says volume is too big. I think FAT32 has a problem with large drives like 120gb and stuff.

yeah fat 32 is only good too like 22 gig or something stupid....
osx wont read anything except dos volumes off the PC which sucks because of the 8 digit file names
I havent found any other fixers...

im pissed off now. I had to partition the drive and allocate only 32gb as fat32 for mac and pc use and the rest to NTFS which is pc only. What a fuckin waste of money.
AAARRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...
