I disagree. It all depends on your audience. Some people will never feel its that 'intuitive'. And text clues can help a lot.

I agree with WildPony. You can never make something obvious to everyone. How many times have you seen someone push on the pull doors even though it says "Pull" on the door?

i dont diss nielson, i just dont like him.
i just don't really if a few people can't have trouble navigating an otherwise self explanitory site because the internet needs some sort of an idiot filter.
like someone else said above, people PULL doors that say PUSH all the time, so obviously the instruction is pointless.

well i think it's because a lot of the time people aren't looking at the handle (which, around here, is where all the push/pull labels are) when they open doors. not that i have a problem.
