so i've done this before, but its been a while...
i've got like 300 images i need to tweak..
i can get all my actions to work in an automated batch, but even with a recorded 'save as' and 'close' as part of the actions, it keeps prompting me if i want to save???
makes the batch pointless really.
can anybody explain to me how to get it working
in addition to all the tweaks, i want to save and close each batched image
thanks

when recording the action (in real time)... make sure you record yourself saving and closing the file too.
... then, all you have to do is hit your function key (assigned before or after recording the action) and you're gold.

i'll give it another try, but i feel like i have recorded the save and close in real time like you said....
i mean as record is still on, i hit save as - save it - and then close the image - and then i stop recording...

weird --- it always works for me.

Let me know if you have any luck. I've tried it before also and couldn't get it to work.

I'm using Image Ready for this..but should be similar... Make sure you go through the Batch Options and Action Options preferences (in the Actions Pallete), and choose a target folder to save to.
To make it easier, you can save the Actions as Droplets, so you just have to drag the images or folder onto the icon to run the batch and save to the folder.
And... double click each of the steps to add even more options to each step... such as to resize by both width and height (i.e. setting a max dimension) , and to change other numeric values from what you originally recorded.

I still can't get it working!?
i've done the first part of what ribit said anyways, though didn't save as droplet (that shouldn't matter)
i've got a source folder, and a destination folder, and my save as and close commands as part of the action set...
any other thoughts?
i'm still getting asked if i want to save each image after the automated batch runs through all the actions before save as...
by the way i'm in PS 7 - PC
thanks

under automate>batch, make sure that you have 'override action "save as" commands' checked. usually works for me.

i've tried playing with that setting...same problem with or without it checked....
