i spent all morning on the phone with some guy who could not understand me on a phone connection that kept gong in and out so that i could get the priviledge of using the software i already paid a thousand dollars for.
they should spend more energy on punishing those who pirate their product not those who purchase it.

glad it wasn't just me then - £1000 for the priveledge of getting pissed around.
Have you downloaded the full-res preview Xtra yet - another few phone conversations later you might just get that sorted too!!

i have been using indesign for the last year or so but i just picked up a client who will only except quark files.
believe me it is not by choice. i was at one time a diehard quark fan but they lost me sometime ago.

i see
fair enough, its astonishing to see how quark, the standard, does so little for their clients.
a world upside down if you ask me.
if any quark ppl are reading this, read this:
YOU DONT DESERVE OUR MONEY!

amen.
if you are gonna charge the same that adobe does for 4 great tools you need to offer a product and service that is at least not offensive.

quark is not even worth piratin'

Used to teach Quark to Uni students as a stop gap after completing degree no. 2. It is one of the major reasons why the 'old boy network' print industry is still so far behind internet communications in terms of accessibility and usability. Trying to put together any kind of a design in that app just makes you want to go nuts. Is it any better than previous versions and worth all that money? I would really like to hear how it compares, OSX nativity aside...

6 is nearly the same 5, not at all worth the loot. its buggy cost too much and this activation stuff is ridiculous.
spent 5 or 6 years as a quark user and now after a year of indesign i will only use it if i have to. unfortunately one of my clients uses a printhouse who refuses to buy indesign.
