Good Graphic Design Program,
Photography, 3D, Motion Graphics - plus the fact that it's a private school means new toys all the time.(iomparison to a state funded school)

i decided to go to scad in '95 because the cost of living in savannah was far lower than other cities with art schools.
SCAD is whatever you make of it. Work your butt off and you'll succeed.
Unfortunately Savannah is no longer as affordable as it used to be.

similar to alot of other proprietary tech/ CG schools in that the teachers are generally underqualified and that what you're really paying for is the equipment...which may or may not be that good. I met a guy @ the mall drawing caracatures (he was really good!) that went there and he had NOTHIN nice to say about the place.

I did have a few underqualified professors - but for the most part they were practicing designers - quite a few were published and they knew there shit.

I graduated from SCAD in 2000....It is a little pricey, but in most cases very much worth it. I had a few underqualified profs. in the interactive/web design courses, but that was fairly new then, so I'm sure it is quality now..But it's more than the school...Savannah can be very inspiring in itself...beautiful, good climate year round, very arts oriented, and 20 minutes from the beach....Although it can be a little shady in some places
