Can anyone recommend a good keyboard/controller??

I havn't used Traktor, but I do use LIVE with a midi controller.
I just got me the CS32. It's a tiny controller with 32 sliders and a ton of buttons. And its about the size of a sheet of paper.
It's great.

the thing is you will want a MIDI-keyboard connected to these devices and then also obviously connected to a soft synth or software of some kind

Native Instruments make great products in general. :)

take a look at this. it's a funny little controller, but it works great once you set everything up proper.

yeah, there are all sorts of conversion methods. That looks pretty good, once you get doen converting with that you could import the MIDI into something like Reason and then replace the tracks with Reason Instruments and sequence away.
