I've got 2 comps on 1 monitor. PC and a Mac, they are totally diff gammas as you know...
what can I do so that the MAC doesnt look like crap when I switch over to view it via my data switch. All I see when switched to the mac are blues and some greens, no reds at all.
I tried to adjust, but I'm only somewhat mac saavy.
saavy?

Have you looked thru System Prefeences > Displays> Color? Set up a custom color profile

I tried that, nothing really brought out the reds. Also the type on screen is blurry and doesnt look good. The screen is a darker blue then the monitor the Mac was previously on.

anyone else know of any solutions or ever have the same issue come up?

sounds like problem with hardware... if it's old non-multi-sync display or old Mac, and VGA, then you might need a converter thingy (the ones with the little flip-switches)

and if you are only seeing a few choices in the resolution menu, that usually indicates something isnt right. You need to tell people what type of connectors (VGA, DVI, ADC) what series Mac, what monitor, what OS etc....

Its a g4 and an under 1 year old samsung syncmaster 172n flat panel. I have both comps hooked up to a qvs dataswitch. I did it right, mac just looks crappy.

and... if you are using an external switch to flip between these, that might be thhe problem...does the Mac work OK with that monitor without the switch box connected? A lot of recent monitors have dual inputs (switchable)...might be another option..
