The simple fact is that the world is gun crazy. you don't see people walking around with machine guns in the USA like you do in Afghanistan, Iran, Rawanda etc... etc...
The human race's main activity is tribal warfare, no matter which way you look at it, so shut the fuck up and continue being ignorant.
Does this fact suck? yes of course world peace would be great, but it ain't gonna happen, sorry to burst your bubble.

I gave a pretty good reason for having guns and that is tnatamount to a balance of power. like I said if the cops and the crooks and the government get to have guns, then I think civilians should have guns too.
but hey, I'm just saying I have not heard a convincing argument to the contrary. as of now I fear the tyranny of the money interests that control our government as much as anything.

like I said, I don't own a gun, and to add to that, I don't think that civillians should have unrestricted access to guns- i think gun owners should be registered and clean of past crimes etc. -

human instinct is "by whatever means necessary"
which means I as a civillian don't want to be caught off guard. it can happen someday that if the civilians are unarmed they will be abused and oppressed.
just look at the imbalance of power in the israel palestine conflict. one side has the most advanced military technology in the world the other side has any necessary means... not a fiar fight. imagine if both side were equally armed. I would guess that a truce would be called.
