Do any of you do it?
If so, what blog manager do you use? movable type, blogger, etc?
I'm curious because I want to make my new blog site extra nice.

firstly you must ask yourself "do I have anything to talk about that is of any substance or even mildly interesting"

Well, I don't really have anyting of particular value to write about, but hopefully photos and goodies will get me some regular visitors.

im building my own thing...flash front end and php backend...all visual tho...navigated like a game...pretty close to legend of zelda...
i used moveable type before...i had lots of problems getting it to run from the cgi-bin and it is definitely a bitch to customize...but i think you would be able to handle it...especially with your layout...which is very nice btw...
how do you like MICA?...the digital arts grad program kinda interests me

MICA? Me? No, sorry I just work for a living.
Though I would love to go back to school for a while.

I use LiveJournal (I used to work on the site - the first person to mock me gets a pie to the face)... but it's not the best for embedding on a site.
It's convenient, it's got a lot of amazing features if you're just using it on livejournal.com, but outside of the site, there's some improvement to be done. It's meant to be more of a community tool than a blog anyway.
I've heard bad things about Blogger, decent things about Moveable Type. That's my $.02.

What up Zach...
Yeah, blogger works well, and is customizable...Like Mr. Nolan:

easy AND nice: TypePad
(hosted service from the makers of MovableType, very configurable with templates n stuff, and classy setup interface.)

I think I'm going to go with b2 or WordPress from http://cafelog.com

personally, I hate them no offense, what is it? a digitalized diary everyone can read and yet no one cares about. :)
- ribit0
um.. they arent all the same.
There might be a lot of crap out there, along with the useful stuff... but the whole world is like that isnt it?
At least now there is a way for people to make a regulary updated personal or community site without having to spend too much time on tech stuff. Can't hurt can it?
hmmm..

I guess I see your point JazX, but I'm doing it anyway.
I'm all about putting photos up on there.

Just Do It™ (Nike)I was thinking about it myself. Would only care if my friends kept up on it, not out there to be Oscar Wilde for fuck's sake. Better than sending friends cleverly written emails, and then saving those emails, blowing up a mailbox. One would figure, aside from talking all kinds of shit; you know, condescending, being sarcastic, a needless, egocentric design nazi and such on nt (alter egos). If someone (or friends) have told you you've got a compelling style in writing, plus you got photos and sketches to compliment your writs, go for it.
*Would make great eulogy material in your mortal future, not to mention. A portfolio of life as such. One way to prove your life didn't suck. Or at least, suck all the time, that you had 'moments' and all.
-cafe, huh?
