Just wondering if there is a difference between the platinum (silver) edition and the normal (purple) edition.
I read somewhere that the platinum version doesn't come with the bundled software (comic studio etc.)

I really dunno, I have a 9x12 intuos 2, I don't believe it was a platnium version, the only software I got was painter, and a bunch of apps I would never use.
get the cheaper one, as long as it has the 1024 levels of pressure you will have all that you need....

darker is better.
lots of mung accumulates on these things.....although brighter would be more effective for cleaning
