This may be a dumb question. But how is a background set like that in flash?
Does any one know?

Anyone?

There is a post call 'flash q' here is what 8dot3 said (dunno if this works)
"ok. after some research here are the basics.// scales the bg to the stage
bg_mc._width = Stage.width;
bg_mc._height = Stage.height;In your HTML code you make the width and height of your flash movie 100% and value=noscale. "

Best off asking the chap who posted the CentriFuga site as he is the Don Carleoni of flash. Unfittoprint please stand up and.

you can find more info on the stage object in the html actionscript dictionary that comes with flash
or in MX 2004 - it's built in flash
to position elements you can do stuff like
myBox._width = Stage.width;
and
myBox._x = Stage.width - (myBox._width / 2);you can basically make 'frames' looking sites in one flash document

Cheers Unfit, just what I was looking for, works like a charm :)

or you hack it together like i did. If you mean how is it all flash.
I add this( Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";) to my movie, then set it to 100% in the html. I wanted the right click to work over the whole browser, not just a 600x600 pixel range(or whatever you set your movie as.

Yes. Thanks everyone for your responses.
But what I was trying to figure out is: The background image inside of the SWF appears to be tiling, like html. I was wondering how that was done.
Anyone?

(not for the tiling tho.. but you can script that..)

Yay!! Thankyou:)
You rock :))

i'm sure that's done with scripting ala duplicateMC based on screen size.

hallo, this is a bump for Unfittoprint regarding the Moock technote you posted yesterday. http://moock.org/asdg/technotes/…
The downloadable file on that page is brilliant, and has shown me several things I didn't know, what I don't understand is how I can use a bg image which will scale to the stage when I've already set the stage to 'noScale'
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
to enable my mainContent clip to remain unscaled on the top left of the screen? (sorry for the long explanation, hope it makes sense!) I'd be greatful if someone could help, I've been busting my balls over this problem for about 4 hours now and can't get it right.

//_________________RESIZE
Stage.align = "LT";
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
Reziser = new Object();
Reziser.onResize = function(){
imageMC._xscale=imageMC._yscale...
}
Stage.addListener(Reziser);that's if you want an XY proportional scaling for the image, otherwise:
imageMC._xscale=(Stage.width/ima...
imageMC._yscale=(Stage.height/im...good luck...

I'm going home to crash now, would be great if someone would point me in the right direction (Ps: I'm not looking for an fla or anything just a pointer)

jeez, dude, that was ultra fast, ok I'm trying it now, thanks a million :) I'll let you know when its sorted!

Hi unfit, I used the first snippet of code on my first frame,
Stage.align = "LT";
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
Reziser = new Object();
Reziser.onResize = function(){
imageMC._xscale=imageMC._yscale...
}
Stage.addListener(Reziser);I've set my html to 100% width and height and its doing strange things...

Do you know what I've done wrong? Thx.
- unfittoprint0
try this instead (within the onResize function):
image._width = (Stage.width/image._width)*image...
image._yscale = image._xscale;Seems that the Stage 'freaks out' refreshing the _xscale and _yscale parameters...
