yeah, many a site i did went down the tubes after i took a step back (even after working on it for some time)

well, the aim of the site was to improve my drawing and illustration skills (i'm a designer who's a frustrated illustrator) and post the results at the end of every week. but i guess the thought of showing the whole world those awkward first steps regaining my skills again kinda got me spooked, now the site is almost finished. i was thinking of maybe just posting selected ones instead...which will call for a redesign. maybe it's for the best.

put it up but don't tell anyone

You are so not alone on this. I think I have at least 40-50 projects sitting in my draft folder that will never see the light of day.
Best advice? Just put whatever you have now live.

agreed, the plight of an artist is that he is never happy with his own work.....
the plight of a designer is he only generallly gets to be an artist when he's doing his own stuff.
post it, and live with the results, you'll probably learn something

ok. i'm gonna plough on with it and upload it when it's finished. but version 2 of the site will change in purpose and design. version 2 is only going to be selected drawing work i think, not everything i've drawn. (when this site was finished, i was going to draw every single day) plus i think i'm judging it by unreasonable standards, when it's only my first site. cheers for the encouragement guy's.
