How many of you here in L.A. went to see Broadcast last night at the Troubadour?

We got their just in time to only see them. Didn't hear anything good regarding the 2 opening bands so I didn't mind.

The drummer for Broadcast wrecked shop last night. The chick got a bit tired and the guitar guy looked like a chump to me. Didn't really impress me. Looked a bit bored on stage. The kat on bass & the kat on the keys were also nice.

Overall a pretty good show. They are good live, but the sound was terrible.

I have to say that the crowd seemed like a joke and if you are a part of that crowd, I am sorry but can we please stop trying so hard? What is the deal? I almost started breaking glasses and feeding people. I love security at shows like that. They always seem so confused as to why people are even here. They have that look on their faces like... "WTF is this?"

Anyone else see them? What did you think if so.

    word!

i saw broadcast a couple of weeks ago at the bottleneck in lawrence, ks.

iron & wine opened for them... i gotta say, 3/4 of the crowd was there for iron & wine, an amazing little band, fronted by Samuel Beam. very quiet will oldham sounding... anyway, the bottleneck is your average bar venue... somewhat rowdy live venue in the middle of a college town. never have i heard it that quiet there. everyone was listening very intently... it was great. they did a cover of the lips' waiting for superman... was fantastic...

and then broadcast came on... it was a good live set... the sonic spectrum, i think, was broken at least 5 times that night... had projections rolling along... starting off with a closeup of the retina of an eye...

i enjoyed them... and the crowd was into it. everyone had a good time.
