Hi all, I'm a painter not a designer, and I want some advice for my portfolio. It's difficult to integrate my dirty paint with the clean flash... now I have online 2 versions: http://www.andreagrossociponte.c… - http://www.andreagrossociponte.c…
I appreciate yours critics
thanx

my thoughts are that the second version really captures the feel better. there are some problems with the scripting on the menu, it jumps when the mouse is above the swf, but i am not a scriptguy, so . . .
anyway, i think it works pretty well. the only suggestion that i have off the top of my head is that maybe the second version would look nice with an orange bar somewhere at the bottom to kindof frame everything. nothing large or overpowering, just something that would kindof match and echo the menu bar.
if i had more time, i would try to go a bit deeper, but i am swamped with work today. arg.and of course, i must say: great paintings. really diggin em.

im with Bio...
#2, but it's really chunky & big.
A lot of the images are too pixelated and some of the functionality is broken. I don't think that it showcases your (excellent) paintings in the best possible way. I would try to simplify the whole thing so that your work is the focus, not the site...your paintings are so good that the site doesn't need to be so flashy/scripty...

thanks very much for critics & compliments, I agree with yours observations. But now I hate html sites & it's so funny play whith actionscripts...

Hey HeyJoe,
Great username...I think that if you created that site by just "playing" in flash, you can come up with something that is a lot tighter and cleaner :) So, you're not a designer...are you a developer?
How have you figured out all your AS? Just curious.
