I guess Billy Bob got tired of people finding flaws in his OS that he decided to take the $5 Million it would take to fix these flaws and have people turn in their friends for the cash... errrr... rewards. What a chump. Spend that loot on making the OS more robust and not so easy to build hacks for and you wouldn't have this problem.
But then again, everyone has their price ehh?

if i was so willing to help authorities, or so willing to get rich i would go for the real money: $25 for Bin Laden or Saddam (also $25). The last time i checked there was no takers... Where will we Americans realized that money sin't the only driving force in this world.

what else can they offer? a lifetime supply of cheerios?
since time is money, money can buy you time. and since time is the most valuable resource available, then money can be a good motivator.
(then again, so can being killed for ratting someone out)

you should look into what kinda evidence microsoft demands for coughing up the cash. will consider voluteering for the part as 'the virus writer' for 50% of the reward and all the movie rights royalties.

Bounty Hunt? They should reward the people that show how bad is that pile of shit they call WindowsXP.
Go Open Source. Go Linux.
- pr20
dude, stop bitching at WinXP it's superb piece of software. It literaly does evrything for you even when you don't have the right drivers.

although i have no problem with linux...
i just can't help picturing some 300 pound white dude with long scruffy hair and pasty white skin and a bunch of unkempt facial hair wearing a t-shirt that stopped fitting him like three years ago with a picture of a penguine on it... getting ready to spank it to a picture of Capt. Janeway on a star trek website.
*hits self in head with hammer to make the bad picture go away

'Geek-guy-that-loves-Linux' image is soo yesterday, c'mon... A lot of governments are actually turning to Linux as the main OS for its different agencies (mine and others from the EU, Brazil and others South and Central America, etc...)
My advice: use an old computer and install it. Ei, every cool kid in da hood is doing it!!

Havent 'Geek-guys-that-loves-Linux' always thought they actually were 'cool kids'?

i've had a little experience with linux... if you can get your work done with it (lets face it, it's kinda lacking in the software dept.) then more power to ya... I'll stay with my Mac for now.

linux is an obvious option for technically competent people, like yourself and i (oh i'm so PC (no pun intended)), but it isn't quite as user friendly to the novice computer user. and open source.. what good is that to someone who used a computer for just games or emails or writing term papers?
