Anyone working on issues from this yet?
There is no option for people to cancel the loading of the page in the alert box. Only an OK button.
Even clicking on the "X" on the alert, continues to load the active x content.
Instead of having to click OK on this alert box, can't we say that by using IE in the first place, we agree. Why not hide it in the TOS when installing or registering IE?
MS has a browser update for dev testing:

Macromedia has some info at:

Noboby coding for this yet?
- shutdown0
holding off for now
i'm sure I read somewhere yesterday that W3C is trying to overturn the ruling about the activeX thing
- MX_OnD0
w3c is trying to get the ruling overturned for prior art
AND
anyway "coding for it" is a piece of piss anyway, we've got a tutorial up as you pointed out:
http://macromedia.com/devnet/act…
and here are the reasons to use this solution.,,,,
big fuss about nothing really

will the new code work in current browsers or is for future browsers only?

Sounds fairly easy... what happens when you try to load a .swf into another .swf ... does it pick this up?

Sorry in advance if this sounds harsh.....
BUT
You're from the UK too aren't you?
You can read and understand English?
You're too lazy to read the link I looked out and posted?
What does "Backwards Compatible" mean??
Why do I bother looking out links, tutorials et al if you're not going to bother reading them and just start asking specific questions???
Like I say sorry if it sounds harsh but yesterday or the day before there was exactly this reaction to someone asking questions without reseaching themselves and to be honest I agree that it is an unashamed cheek to do so.
so there.

goodmorning!

James on the otherhand THAT is a good question....
We weren't sure either and gave it a blast.... it seems to work ok
Our theory is that it is only the embedding of the initial SWF that is critical, any subsequent SWFs getting loaded into this one aren't being embedded in the page per se but being loaded into the embedded object....
make sense?
Like I say though, that's our theory, not theorem ;)
- MX_OnD0
mitsu, no not a particularly good one I'm afraid....
a total cunt of a hangover
a puncture on my bike on the way to workAND
nothing but annoyance since getting here an hour late.
Thanks anyway ;)
