I am curious what other designers are using to preview fonts.. I hate having to select a different font illustrator from the list to see how the type would look with a different font.. anybody use a program for font previewing? I tried TypeJet but it crashes all the time.

Does suitcase let you put in a word and preview tons of fonts at the same time?

Another very helpful utility is 'Font Gander'.
It sits on your desktop and you just drag and drop fonts onto it.(you don't need to go through a big loading process).

if you add all your fonts to your fonts folder you will slow your machine down. you need a font management system that lets you create sets. suitscase is ok, but ATM is beter if you're in classic.

i prefer Font Reserve over Suitcase (for OS X)
but Panther contains a font management system. I do not know much about it yet.
