he haaaaaaaahe, BTW, no I didn't wear dark glasses and drive Ford and Chevy SUV's. Although the one's that I saw driving those in Namibia where the one's taking out land mines set up by rogue governments during the Cold War. Savimibi and Dos Santos, Angolan Civil War, which the dumb-ass Namibian president, Sam Nujoma joined up with and let them plant them all over. So, you see maimed people all over. It's crazy unfit. But lovely nonetheless.

then again, US, UK and German companies make those same landmines. Duhhhhhhh, it's a stupid cycle like that. Totally retarded.

Hey Chumley,..perhaps you are not aware that the British patrol the southern part of Iraq, mainly Basra where support for Saddam and the baath party is at it's lowest in the entire country. The Americans patrol the "sunni triangle" which includes Tikrit(Saddam's birthplace) and Fallujah,..where most of the resistance eminates from. Which is why American troops can't afford to alk around with thier guns down wearing cute little berets. I think you should educate yourself more about what is happening on the ground before you post about such matters. But as usual, it is much easier to bash the Americans. A common theme on Newstoday.

Respect to you, man.
Well put.
Everyone should/must do something like that before they die. Getting to understand the overall picture is one thing but to contribute to the betterment of that picture is a wholey more important thing. There are too many (in the minority few who (try to/ are open to)understand) armchair thinkers &talkers, myself included. I plan to get off my western assed high-horse before I die...BTW The Italians make the nastiest landmines :(

The respect is for Jaz...
Apologies... I like to provoke ;)

Hmmmm, I didn't know that the Italiano's make them. Wow, interesting, hee hee do they have D&G and Armani versions, so you can go out in style. Just kidding of course. I couldn't resist. ;) Ichiro, you have a point, but I am leaving all that talk alone, really not worth opening up some crazy can of worms on that subject. :)

The Italian one is the Valmara 69.
Nasty piece of work, it fires itself up into the air then explodes... :(

Unfortunately in Angola, there are more mines than people. Even with a more stable situation down there, you'll still see a lot of people gettin hurt and not being able to work on the land because of that shit. And also corruption but there's a whole different story...

i am an american and i am ashamed of what my country has done for the past 2 centuries behind my peoples' backs. yes, we've done some "good" things. but we've only done them for money and power. the u.s. is now ancient rome squared. its not american bashing here on NT, it's called a wake-up call. its a bitter pill but if you want to be cured you must swallow. thomas jefferson mentioned how there should be a revolution every several years. because there hasn't been any recently, these neo con and wealthy scum have fucked everything up that we've worked for. hail to the thief.

Land mines freak me out. I was a combat engineer in the army reserve and they sat us down and showed us pictures of people who had triggered land mines, for about 2 hours straight. Sick shite, they should be outlawed.
A little off topic but... I wish I had never joined the army, I'm not proud of all the things going on right now, including the exploitation of soldiers like this.
