What is the best size for images of a paintings portfolio ? I see that all use small images for a nice design, but i hate under 500px... thanx

why not use small images that can be clicked for a larger version?..i would keep the big ones under 775px though, to avoid horizontal scrolling at 800X600....

forget about size, just save yourself the bandwidth usage and give them a plain text description of the painting...
give some people a chance to use their imaginations for once.
