I walked past him on Charing Cross Road yesterday, he was loitering outside a sex shop, I can't confirm whether he was a regular customer though. Just thought I'd mention it.

he's gotta practice that smooth voice somewhere...
I love norman jay's london live sunday night show :)

Wow... that puts a whole new meaning on "routing through vinyl"
The man rocks a good party though, sex toys or not?!

He's good, a bit too soulful-vocal-housey for me at times though.

i love that old rare groove stuff. cheesey I know but the world would be a sad sad place without it.
Took my parents to notting hill carnival the afternoon they arrived in London - we went to the good times soundsystem and they were so amazed to see so many people rocking in the street to soul tunes from their days...

mixing the old old with the new is brave, but he seems to pull it off. mans a bit of legend now aint he? has he been around as long as someone like John Peel?

Rare groove is brilliant, I would have loved to have been old enough to appreciate it first hand though, I always find myself thinking I ve caught the back of it and missed the whole spirit of the scene, it is music that always induces a smile.

not into some of the stuff he plays but hes a really nice guy.
Had the pleasure to meet him once or twice.
Hes a really down to earth kinda guy.
And if hes loitering around sex shops... I like him even more

Didn't he pretty much start Notting Hill Carnival? Cos he was sick of not being able to get into west end clubs?
That stuff is what I grew up on. Thanks mum!

He was wicked at Notting Hill, very cool that he got an MBE - "awarded on merit for deejaying and services to music".

only seen him play once but it was a doozy night. muchos good or something.
