_roh seems to have some real passion about it, which I admire.

tank_ i dont think you read me correctly mate, when i said 99% thats what i meant, not everyone, it was meant to exclude the real writers in here who actually live the culture, not these fashion fools who come in and swagger around because they've done a few 'street' stencils, lets see how they handle getting chased in the tunnels.
my frustration (yes your right) is that because graf is all popular at the moment, everyone thinks they can do what they want and get props, i have been writing a big portion of my life, and it pisses me off when something i put so much time and effort into is getting over run by trendy fucks.
i like good stencils, i like good art, but i cant stand mediocrity.

yeah Req's stuff is nice, and his mate She One too, I think Req makes music these days..
- vespa0
hope i don't get beaten up here for daring to like this stuff when I don't do it myself but:
Love Req's photographic blowouts
http://www.req.net/artfront.htmAnd when I first started going out with my bf my favourite shirt of his had artwork by WK interact (are they really commercial? i don't really care) on it - we went to new york for a dirty weekend and turned the corner and there it was!
Also love mode2 (how couldn't I?) and even though it's not graf i guess, will barras' and mr jago's sketching styles make me very happy.
Still like robin banks banksy even if he is a master of publicity.

yeah stencils are cool, stickers too, graff is just more hardcore in the act. I mean, stickering is a no risk act, stencilling is super quick too but graff takes time, spending 2 hours putting up a burner in a high risk place is a hardcore rush, and thats what graff is all about.

_roh..man youre frustrated..the thing i like about (good) stencils is that they carry a messange..and that was its original purpose...so it has nothing to do with technique but with content..i'll betya youre one of those guys who only cares for one style..you own..man how dare you to go insult us like that..do you have any idea of who the people are in this thread..for instance rizon he used to be part he of the antown squad here..the guy is fucking legend..so first do your research or else shut the fuck up!

all i can say is that 99% of you posting in here DONT KNOW SHIT' rattling off writers like scien and klor, banksy and kinsey prove how little you know.
its like saying 'oh manchester utd is my favourite team" when you've never watched a football match in your life.
oh yea AND FUCK STENCILS they are not art and they are shit, any monkey can cut a picture out of magazine and point a can at a wall, it takes practice and dedication to be a writer, dont trivialize what is is a big part of my life and alot of other dedicated individuals

Abuse from Miniapolis
Toast from Germany
Saber from LA just for doing pieces on the sides of oil tankers, and pretty much defining LA graffiti since CBS crew.
