I live in San Diego and it's hell here right now. Is anyone else aftected by the fires?

I live in Encinitas and work in Vista. It's so smokey out, they sent us from work. So now I'm just chillin'.
My parents and some friends of mine got evacuated though.

Not making light of people loosing their homes, but this is every reason to build homes like bunkers-concrete, steel, and all you have to do is repaint it after a fire.

I live in Mission Hills I haven't left my house for about 18 hours and feel there should be something I can do but don't know where to start? It is devistating out there I feel helpless.

We already had Hell here in Portugal this Summer.
Instead of firefighting aircrafts they prefered to buy new submarines. Fuckin' A-Holes.

again, not to make light of anyone's situation... but if your house burns up, will you rebuild it in the exact same spot? What about mudslides, if you lose your house to mudslides, do you rebuild it in the same exact spot? Seems like noone out there learns any lessons. Its like the people in Missouri that lose their homes to floods and tornados, surely moving away is cheaper than rebuilding.

i couldnt believe they moved the charger/miami game to pheonix and gave tickets away in hopes for a donation for the fire relief fund.

I think they need to build massive sprinklers that connect to the ocean and lay them out in a grid that towers above the forests.
It may be an eyesore, but it's not like we don't live with all sorts of electrical towers and whatnot all over the place.Is saltwater bad for fires? I know salt isn't good for wounds.
