For some reason that is possibly only known to my video card (which is not a self-aware entity so is entirely irrelevant), the video-card in question - an Asus Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X - has a MASSIVE problem.
See this jpg to see the problem -
These dots and lines appear in different places on new windows or when an existing window is resized. I have already uninstalled the GeForce Video drivers (hence lower resolution) yet the problem persists.
So, can anyone help? Does anyone know a way of fixing this problem?

oh dear. that doesnt look too good. are you sure its the video card and not the monitor?
- lifeinsodium0
and do follow the white rabbit.

if it'd be the monotor the spots wouldnt be there on the screengrab

I'm going to go and test a different monitor. I very much doubt it's the monitor causing the problem though.
Any other suggestions please?
And if I saw a white rabbit, I'd follow.

borrow a friends video card and give it a shot. if the card works fine, burn your video card, keep your friend's and change your phone number.

I've had this happen on a mac before and I just rebuilt the desktop and it was fine, tried defragging or anything?
- defunktion0
No, I guess I could give it a go. I don't really use Mac so pardon my ignorance when I ask - what exactly is rebuilding the desktop?

I think that maybe is a mac thing; helps keep the finder in order basically.
