Anybody want to share their experienced with Font Book?
I was pretty exited, until I found out I cant add my fonts..

i feel your pain
i cant figure it out, some fonts it adds, some it doesnt. I restarted my machine and the fonts i thought it wasnt adding suddenly appeared in the box........ and why the hell does it activate a font just by adding it to a list..... total pants - well gutted

Hmm.. Seems like I am having some *&%@! permission problems.. That was screwing up Font book.. and also making it impossible to activate fonts in Suitcase..
I tried to move my fonts from my secondary hard drive to my primary.. Now it seems to work.

ya, the small amount of experience i've had with it was complete crap... i go to add my typefaces one brand at a time, and 3 brands later (~200 fonts each), i realize they're all on... and i try to turn them off by turning off the "group"... no-go... then i delete the groups, and find the pref to turn off the fonts IN the group...
i'm not happy...

Very easy fix...
1. Unplug machine
2. Pack it up
3. Sell to some other elitist mac idiot4. Buy a PC

the point is that if you feel the need to bash a stranger's computer choice on message board without being provoked, you must be very insecure about your machine...sorry about that....

Font Book is total crap, I have about 2000 fonts, tried to add them ..yah right...half way through and i couldnt even see half of them, i couldnt even load up font book after restarting 5 times, then if i opened photoshop, it would only load fonts up to a curtain amount....So i deleted all my fonts reinstalled factory fonts...going to install "font reserve" I have had all of them on that before hope it works in panther.

suitcase works fine on the alley cat.

I haven't went Panther yet but I was hoping for something a bit smoother than suitcase. Suitcase takes forever to load and close and its so freakin annoying how it adds 13 copies of itself to my start up items. The only reason I use it at all is because I cant find a better solution. For a quick preview though I go here in my browser:

suitcase is still the reigning champ. fontbook is about as slow as font reserve.
