flash import problem

trying to import a logo into flash
and it won't come in correctly.
It's either mangled to all hell or it crashes flash. I've tried to save it as an EPS, in illustrator 10 through 5 and nothing works. Copying and pasting hasn't worked either.
Never had this problem before and wondering if anybody has any suggestions.

I thought the latest version of Illustrator woul do that. my bad...

you can in illustrator 10. but i alwasy use export as png's. when you import to flash, convert to movieclip with lower-right orientation so the x/y are negative values with mc

file -> export...
and set file type to swf. Usually works for me? Think its even in AI 9 too?
