original battered old 5 gig iPod, with Sony MDR-D77 headphones...
Always feel those white ones that come with it are a sure fire way of telling every mugger that you have a shiny new ipod in your pocket.

quite like it in a 1997 way.

also, my ONLY complaint about the ipod is when first hitting menu the first option being playlists instead of artists... i don't set up playlists and that wheel is overkill sometimes as the smallest touch will push the menu selector past the option i'm trying to choose causing me to have to go back up one level and try again...
alas, a small hassle for such a wonderfull product...

i've got the 15gb and i love it! My friendd bought the 30 and has nothing but problems with it - it freezes, skips songs, etc. Anyone else have anything like this? I told him to take it back and get it fixed.

I agree Mitsu... would be great to be able to build your own menu structure on your computer, and it then follows it when you've sync-ed... that would be nice...
you could have
>ARTISTS (show all artists)
>FERGAL SHARKEY
>BANANARAMA
>PLAYLIST 1
>PLAYLIST 2etc...

i got a ten GB and dont really feel the need for more.
by the time i'm tired of listening to the tunes its filled up with other crap i never listen to.
time for a cleanswipe then and chunk with newbies.
After almost a year now i'm still amazed by the speed it copies files. As Moby said,'an entire album in 10 seconds'We're too spoilt!

whats the best way to get all the scratches off it.. if you haven't had it in that horrible gimp suit that you can buy for it?

i think the best thing to do is knit a jacket yourself

Still on my original 5Gb iPod, it's looking a bit battered but it still works perfectly, might upgrade to a bigger one next year.

I've thought about tranferring my whole cd collection but can't face the prospect of 600 cd copies... although I'm thinking of doing it and storing the ugly bliters out of the way!...
Still this day no one has designed a nice cd rack except for Barber Osgerby.

My iPod has been clattereing around in the Mrs handbag for ages next to coins, keys and a nailfile
I used Brasso to get the scratches off and a lint free sloth (ie as smooth a cloth as you can get)
Buy the Brasso with the wadding and go in small circles, when you come to wipe it off it smears at first but then disappears leaving a shiny iPod both front and back - you may have to apply ans remove a couple of times
