Safari hell!

On a PC, I would check the font they specified for those blocks and verify that my machine 1) had that font installed, 2)The font files weren't corrupts, and 3) that there weren't default language issues both in the OS and the browser.
You've pbly tought of all this though.

Yeah, tried just about everything. It's weird but it only seems to do it on certain sites...

is it not when you visit say a japanese site? then you have to go to character set>japanese autodetect or Cryllic or whatever language the site is... or is it happening on english language sites?

Hi Hutch, have you tried binning the preferences file? Or reinstalling Safari?

Errrr..... there aint a Safari Pref file. Not one that I can see anyway.

actually, the prefs for safari are in your user folder
"user" > Library > Preferences > com.apple.Safari.plist

ah yes this happened to me a while back posted dame question same screen shot....what i did was went to my os font folder and take out the halvetica fractions font out....works like a charm...might search for that old post......luk mate
