preload external swf's

i'm looking for a technique/actionscript for preloading external swf files into a movieclip holder. preloader must be triggered before movie begins and the preloader can't be a dummy loader. looking for something similar to this:

then when you go back to that certain section, you don't have to worry about the preloader appearing again.

it's good to have a frame before the preload script is executed in your movie to skip the preload sequence if the movie has already been loaded, after it's been loaded it won't preload anymore

a blank frame before the preload script? my preload script is in the external swf file. it seems to just ignore the fact that there is a preloader there. b/c it doesnt even preload. it shows the preloader...but the preloader is already loaded when the movie is triggered. it has me scratching my head to whether or not i am placing the right functions and mc in the correct areas.

the preloader goes in your main movie...not the swf...way more modular

that preloader was almost dead on what i needed. i'm really trying to find a preloader that uses a load bar and percentage. this one just uses simple animation.

I actually have the preloaders in the loaded swf's with a script in the first frame that checks whether they are loaded or not and, if so, skips the preloader.

I have a preloader that functions in the same way, but I would love to see how yours works, maybe it's better...Do you think you could shoot me an e-mail?

sorry, that was a bad example...
but, if you load an external .swf with that preloader into a clip or onto a level, you don't see the prealoder ever again...In the exapmle I gave you can. sorry
